I hope you all had a great Christmas! It is time for a New Year and a bit of a new focus on Dolled Up Design.
My lovely sister shared with me that, instead of a list of New Year’s resolutions, she was focusing on one word for the year: Believe. I loved this idea and In order to give myself some clear direction and motivation with my blogging this year, I decided to try and come up with a similar simple mantra to follow.
My husband surprised me Christmas morning with the amazing gift of the Lego Disney Castle. When I first got the 4080 piece Lego set it felt like it was going to be a chore to get it built, but I actually had a lot of fun putting it all together. I spent several days over the Christmas break building it and was drawn back to our wedding and all the happy memories we shared on that trip to Disney World.
This flood of memories and our upcoming 10th wedding anniversary helped inspire my theme for the year:
DISNEY WORLD We will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary in July 0f 2017 and that means a trip back to where we got married: Disney World! I am looking forward to sharing planning tips, photos and reviews of the actual trip in November and, maybe, some photos and memories from our wedding trip 10 years ago. I have such wonderful memories of the trip and really looking forward to experiencing Disney World again now that we have children.
DISNEYLAND I know from our trip to Disneyland two years ago that Disney World is going to be an amazing time with the kids. Life got busy and I never really shared any photos or experiences from our Disneyland trip, and then months later I felt it was too late to bother. My Re-living The Magic theme will help me justify going back and post content that might not be as timely, but is still relevant.
CAMPING It is Canada’s 150th Birthday this year and to celebrate they are giving all Canadian Residents free admission into the National Parks. We were able to experience a handful of these parks last summer and I want to share more of our camping experiences and tips on the blog. I really love seeing other bloggers reviews and pictures, and would love to be able to provide more of the same.
PAST PROJECTS I have parties that haven’t made it on the blog that I would love to share with you. I have craft projects and recipes I have photographed and never found the time to sit down and post. I will be going back through some of these and sharing some of my favorite past projects that never made it onto Dolled Up Design.
BIRTHDAYS And of course, there will still be birthday parties to plan. As much as I would love for my children to not get any older, I do enjoy everything that comes with planning and celebrating their birthdays each year and then sharing my tips and ideas on here.
I am hopeful for the next year. I am thankful for all of you who read and enjoy my blog, and inspire me to keep blogging. With the new theme and refocus I am hoping to share even more content and create more magical moments in the next 12 months.
