My kids are OBSESSED with their fuzzy blankets, and drag them everywhere throughout the house. Because of this, I knew cozy blankets would be essential to pack both for the airplane and for a little extra comfort in the hotel room during our upcoming trip
Blankets and pillows can take up quite a bit of valuable suitcase or carry-on space so while trying to narrow down which of the kids blankets to bring, it occurred to me that I already had a great combo travel pillow and blanket in the plush, fuzzy fabric my kids love.
I first learned of the Lug Nap Sac off Oprah when they were part of one of her Favorite Things shows. My original was bought for a trip to Europe we went on over 9 years ago. We did a lot of train travel on that trip to Europe and the pillow/blanket combo was well used as we travelled from city to city and country to country. It’s compact size fit perfectly in my travel backpack, and I loved how soft and cozy it is. The pillow inflates easily to fit inside the soft case, and the fleece blanket unfolds to a nice 35″ x 46″ size. On the airplane, it was so much nicer to curl up with then the small, scratchy blankets the airlines offer.
Knowing that I already had a Nap Sac packed away somewhere in the house, I ordered a second grass green colored version off Amazon.ca ($30) a few weeks ago and kept my fingers crossed that my original would somehow turn up before our trip, and that it wasn’t the exact same color! After spending a good part of the last month and a half tearing apart my house and rummaging through every single box we own, I was ecstatic to finally find my ocean teal Lug Nap Sac yesterday. It was a bit dusty from being in a box in the garage, but a quick spin in the washer and dryer has it is as good as new for my teal-loving daughter to use.
The Nap Sac comes in a wide rainbow of 11 different colors. It is great for all ages, and there is even a more kid-friendly bear faced version available in the same vibrant colors. It makes for a great gift or splurge for yourself, and really is the perfect travel accessory – just so long as it doesn’t get lost away in a box in the garage!
